Most people know that too much sunlight is not a good idea, but the sun is still very necessary. Balance is the key. Your relationship to the sun is connected to the one thing we have in common with plants: you can photosynthesize just like plants do.
Soak Up the Sun
You may not produce energy the same way plants do, but your photosynthetic powers are still beneficial. One thing that you produce is vitamin D. Yes, everyone knows you get vitamin D from the sun. I was just recapping. Vitamin D is also associated with some of the following:
- regulation of your immune system
- longevity of cognitive celerity
- proper distribution of collagen
- helps your body distribute all vitamins correctly
So what other benefits can you get from the sun?
Get Moving With The Sun
It may be tempting, but you should not close your window curtains at night. The moon will help you sleep, and the sun will help you get up. The sun will stop the production of melatonin. Melatonin is a hormone that is produced by the moon, which helps you get sleepy.
Sunlight also increases the production of stimulating hormones such as cortisol, which raises the temperature of your body. You need this rise to feel more alive and ready to face your day.
But there are other benefits to consider.
Feel Better, Eat Better, and Stay Young with The Sun
Sunlight also increases the production of serotonin, which is a ‘feel good’ hormone.
Some psychologists have asked depression victims to consider sunlight therapy to deal with some of their issues. That is how powerful the sun is. One thing that depression is responsible for is dimming your skin and taking away your natural glow.
The sun can help with depression because the production of serotonin will restore the chemical balance in your body. After your depression is eradicated, then your natural glow will return.
The sun also produces antioxidants within your body. These antioxidants are released to eliminate free radicals in your body. The antioxidants will regulate your blood pressure and will reduce any inflammation in your body. They will also eliminate free radicals in your skin that make you age.
