Did you know you are dead? Seriously. You think you’re living. You see yourself breathing; you’re walking around, but there is something missing that will bring True life and healing to your being.
What’s wrong with you?
Your soul is deathly sick. In fact, every human soul is born that way. This deadly disease of your soul is caused by sin. You might be thinking, “I know what sin is. But I’ve lived a pretty good life and been a good person.”
The problem is sin is deadly, even in the smallest amount.
For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God; Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Thankfully, we serve a just God. He calls Himself the Great Physician. He alone possesses the only cure. This spiritual cure will give you God’s forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
Jesus replied, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do.” Matthew 9:12-13
The only cure for sin (according to God) is a perfect sacrifice. God is the only perfect being, so he had to make a way for this to be possible. In a human body, God came to earth in the form of a man. God the Father calls this aspect of himself Jesus, the Son. As fully God and fully man, he met the two requirements for that perfect sacrifice. His blood that was shed covers our state of sin, mending the link that was broken between God and mankind. Because of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, we can receive God’s forgiveness of sin so that it is no longer deadly for our souls.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
The cure for our sick souls is the blood of Jesus Christ. God offers this cure freely to all who wish to receive this Gift. He is desperate that all would accept his gift. We know this because Jesus took on the sins of the whole world. The Bible tells us how to receive this gift:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven. I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that all must repent of their sins and turn to God–and prove they have changed by the good things they do. Acts 26:19-20
We also get baptized (though this is not a requirement for salvation as we see with the criminal on the cross in Luke 23:43). 1 Corinthians 1:14-17, Acts 8:35-38, Acts 16:33, Acts 16:15, Romans 6:3,4
Accepting this gift will awaken your spirit. God’s Spirit will join your spirit; this makes you whole and brings continual healing to your soul.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: Romans 8:16
And…the ultimate gift provided by God is not given because of what you do. It is freely provided, by grace through Faith in Him.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
If God has opened your heart, you can respond to the message just given by accepting the free cure. Repent. Have Faith that Jesus is Lord. Believe Jesus died for your sins, believe in his burial, and believe in His resurrection; His blood wiped out your sins, and His resurrection validated that. He has given you eternal life. Strive to sin no more & live in obedience to Jesus Christ with this new Faith.
