Did you know you are dead? You may think you’re alive. You see yourself breathing, but you need the ultimate cure to get true life.
What’s wrong with you?
Your soul is deathly ill because you’re spiritually dead (separated from God). This deadly disease is caused by sin.
Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Psalm 51:5
You might be thinking, “I know what sin is. But I’ve lived a pretty good life and been a good person.”
The problem is sin is deadly, even in the smallest amount.
For all have sinned, and come short of the Glory of God; Romans 3:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 6:23
Thankfully, our Creator is merciful and gracious. He calls Himself the Great Physician. He alone possesses the only cure. This spiritual remedy will give you God’s forgiveness of sin and eternal life.
Jesus replied, “Healthy people don’t need a doctor–sick people do.” Matthew 9:12-13
The only cure for sin (according to God) is a perfect sacrifice. God is the only perfect being (Matthew 5:48), so he had to make a way for this to be possible. In a human body, he came to earth and was born of a virgin (Matthew 1:23)(Isaiah 7:14). We call this distinct person of The Father, Jesus, the Son. Christ was made perfect through his suffering and complete obedience (Hebrews 5:9). His blood that was shed covers our state of sin, mending the link that was broken between God and mankind. Because of Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection, we can receive God’s forgiveness of sin.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isaiah 53:7
God wants all people to accept this cure (1 Timothy 2:4-6). We know this because Jesus took on the sins of the whole world. The Bible tells us how to receive this healing gift.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9
And so, King Agrippa, I obeyed that vision from heaven. I preached first to those in Damascus, then in Jerusalem and throughout all Judea, and also to the Gentiles, that all must repent of their sins and turn to God–and prove they have changed by the good things they do. Acts 26:19-20
You should know that the ultimate cure provided by God is not given because of what you do. It is freely provided, by grace through Faith in Him.
For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9
If this message pierced your heart (Romans 3:10-11, John 6:44, John 12:40, Acts 2:37, Hebrews 4:12, Romans 9:18), and you feel God’s Spirit convicting you (John 16:8), just accept the free cure. Have Faith that Jesus is Lord. Believe Jesus died for your sins, believe in his burial, and believe in His resurrection; His blood wiped out your sins, and His resurrection validated that. He has given you eternal life. Get baptized as it follows faith in the Lord: 1 Corinthians 1:14-17, Acts 8:35-38, Acts 16:33, Acts 16:15, Romans 6:3,4, Mark 16:16. The Spirit and the Holy Scriptures will help change your mind about sin. Obey and turn from it. Those who love God live in obedience to Jesus Christ and endure to the end (Hebrews 5:9)(Matthew 24:13).
